Here's what people say about us.
We recently engaged the services of Heather McVicar at Diversity Marketplace to support us with a number of high profile clients. Heather was brilliant! Even though the deadlines were tight, Heather delivered both at pace and to an excellent standard. I would highly recommend Heather for any support that you may need in the area of Diversity and Inclusion.
I worked with Heather for a number of years in different roles. I always found her to be a consummate HR professional. She advised me on numerous complex people/team issues, Org development and talent/diversity issues. She is highly dedicated, loyal and has a huge desire for learning and learning from others. A great coach!
Retired from corporate life
I’ve worked with Heather at Rolls-Royce for a number of years, most recently in her role as one of the two Group Diversity & Inclusion Consultants in the talent and leadership Centre of Excellence. Heather has a wealth of HR experience and some deep knowledge and expertise in Diversity & Inclusion. Heather’s strengths include her consultative style, she builds strong stakeholder relationships and can be relied upon to deliver results in a calm and professional manner.
She is comfortable working at all levels across an organisation and had done a significant amount of work at Executive Committee and Board level. Heather is analytical and pragmatic, she uses data to inform insight, and is output focused. Heather has the ability to think strategically yet is pragmatic enough to deliver results. Her broad early career in Human Resources has given Heather a good generalist foundation. She’s an experienced manager and people leader with a strong level of knowledge and experience in employee relations and the HR shared services environment. Heather is forward thinking and embraces change. Her continuous learning mindset is a definite asset.
Heather’s passion and determination to question and challenge the status quo whilst operating with a high degree of intercultural sensitivity is awe inspiring. Heather supported every step of the way as I led the team that founded and launched the first employee resource group at Rolls-Royce aimed at helping employees of African and Caribbean descent who form less than 1% of the workforce be at their best.
She championed the need to have advocate supporters both of A&C backgrounds but also of non-A&C backgrounds. I would strongly recommend Heather to any organisation going on any sort of transformation.
I am happy to recommend Heather. Heather was a member of my team at Rolls-Royce for many years before making her transition the D&I team. Her dedicated, thorough and calm professionalism helped make the Rolls-Royce Shared Service team the success it was. Her extensive breadth and knowledge would be an asset to any organisation she was engaged with.
Heather’s passion for inclusivity and diversity (in all its forms) is evident in all she does. She has strong relationship skills, across all levels, and uses these with integrity and effectiveness to ensure that all her activities have a “chorus” of approval within the business, the senior leadership and external partners. She has been influential, and instrumental, in effecting a progressive and significant change in leadership attitudes from mere awareness, through acceptance into passionate advocates. Thank you for your support Heather.
Business Improvement Leader at Rolls-Royce
I’ve worked with Heather on Diversity and Inclusion initiatives in Rolls-Royce since 2014, particularly with regard to LGBT+ inclusion. Heather was instrumental in helping us establish our first LGBT+ network, providing the necessary guidance and support to allow us to launch and grow in the early days. Her wealth of experience and many useful contacts proved pivotal and the network has since become highly regarded within the engineering sector, built on the foundations she set.
On a personal level, she is warm and endearing, her enthusiasm is infectious, and she brings passion and energy to her work whilst maintaining a level-headed approach. I’ve enjoyed working with Heather immensely, I wish her much success and I recommend her highly.
I really enjoyed working with Sarah for 4 years at RS Components where she led a number of complex global transformational change priorities and I was Head of HR. Sarah has a contagious positive energy, along with a collaborative approach and determination to achieve successful results. To name a few, Sarah led with knowledge and conviction 'RS The way we work' behavioural change, a new Performance Management approach and tool, our Diversity & Inclusion agenda and Engagement survey and priorities. I'd be really happy to work with Sarah again.
Interim VP / Director Global Talent Management / OD / L&D / Transformation Leadership
I have worked in various roles alongside Sarah whilst at Electrocomponents PLC. She was a core member of the team - honest, hardworking, committed and commercial. Sarah created some strong relationships with a great many leaders in the business. I think they thought they could trust her to give them honest and straightforward advice. She is an expert in Organisational Development, very pragmatic and knows how to get things done with quality and pace. Sarah is very professional and also good fun - which counts for a lot when you are trying to transform an organisation, not just tinker with it!
Business and Executive Coach, Nottingham, Birmingham, Midlands and London
I worked with Sarah during 2017 and I was extremely impressed by her breadth of experience and expertise. Sarah brings a delightful positivity and enthusiasm to everything she tackles and is both innovative and practical in her approach. Her passion for L&D, Talent management, Change Management and OD clearly shows through and she is super focused on adding value and getting the job done. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sarah to any business who wants support with their people strategies and the delivery of value adding change.
